Faceted Beads Coatings. Our bead shop currently stocks eight different types of
Czech Fire Polished coatings. The most popular type of bead coating is the AB, but
there are many others, all offering a distinctive look all of their own. The
Bead Superstore bead shop aims to give anyone with a love for bead jewelry
making and beadwork many different types of FirePolished bead coatings.
Using different FirePolish coatings and finishes in bead jewellery making can add a
completely different look to your beaded jewelry. The use of Czech glass bead
coatings in your jewelry designs can help make your beadwork even more unique.
To give your bead jewelry a more reflective look try a Lustre or AB finished
bead. Or if modern jewelry designs are more to your taste you could try a
galvanized or metallic firepolish bead coating.
Types of Bead Coatings.
AB (Aurora Borealis) : sometimes referred to as an Iridescent or
Rainbow coating. This finish is often applied to one side of the fire polish
bead whiles the fire polished bead is hot. This creates a rainbow or prism
effect on the bead surface. Although the coating can be scratched off, it should
not ware under normal use. This is an incredibly popular bead coating at the
bead store and FirePolish Rounds with this coating always sell quickly. The AB
coating is great for modern or traditional jewellery designs.
Dyed or Painted : are transparent faceted beads which have been painted and
then heat treated.
Galvanized : are fire polished crystals which are plated with a zinc
coating. This is not a permanent firepolish bead coating as this will wear over
time.
Gold Lustre : are faceted glass beads which have had a shiny gold finish
applied to their surface. The gold lustre is applied to transparent beads and
results in a bead coating which is highly reflective.
Lustre : sometimes referred to as Luster, this is a shiny colourless finish
applied to the Fire Polish bead surface. This is also an incredibly popular bead
coating at the BeadSuperstore bead store.
Matte Finish : sometimes know as Mat, are beads which have a low lustre and
may have a frosted look to its surface. This transforms the beads from
transparent to translucent.
Metallic : are fire polished crystals which have been sprayed with oxidized
tin. This gives the bead a shimmer effect.
Opaque : refers to a fire polish bead that does not transmit or reflect
light.
Transparent : FirePolish Rounds are faceted glass beads that allow light to
pass through them, they may be clear or colored but often lack density to their
colour.
and finishes are a great way to add
variety to your beadwork. Whether traditional jewelry designs are your passion
or you prefer a more modern jewellery design, Czech fire polished faceted beads
coatings have something to offer everyone. |
